Great after modified to fit a thrustmaster wheel.
The previous review that the wheel plate doesn't support the thrustmaster wheel mount template is 90% correct. I read the Trak Racer response and I figured I was covered, my specific wheel was listed as compatibile. The way to mount the thrustmaster wheel according to customer service is to reverse the plate so that the nose of the plate points towards the pedals.
This mounting method is immensely inconvenient for getting in and out of the simulator chassis, not to mention it's really ugly. You lose nearly a foot of clearance from seat to upright. The instructions have no mention of this method either.
The good news is the plate is carbon steel and relatively easy to drill, the laser does harden the edges of the holes, I drilled new mounting holes to mount my Thrustmaster wheel without much issue.
The 135mm hole slots need to be extended another 10mm or so and all the problems would be solved. I mentioned this to the CSR and they mentioned they would pass it in the engineering team.
Outside of the wheel mount issues, this is a beautiful product. Little details like all the finish is exactly or near as makes no difference the same from the end caps, extrusion, and brackets, it's all seamless. Once everything is bolted together and tight, this is a very stiff chassis. It is my first 8020 sim experience so I can't compare it to anything other than cheaper tube chassis that I upgraded from and it's night and day from that. This chassis is amazingly stiff, especially…
