The Best Racing Simulators From Trak Racer

Sim racing cockpits and rigs

Pick the frame that matches how you race.

Trak Racer builds in both tubular steel and extruded aluminium profile. That means the choice isn’t only what you spend, it’s how much torque the frame has to hold, how fast you want it built, and how often you switch driving position.

Tubular or profile. Your call, not ours.

Most brands build one or the other. Trak Racer builds both. Tubular steel gives you an open footwell, a faster build and a lower price for the same torque rating. Extruded aluminium profile gives you more mounting positions, finer adjustment and direct-fit motion. Neither is the better frame. They suit different drivers.

Which rig suits my wheelbase?

Torque is what decides it. Up to 25Nm the TR8 Pro V2 handles it without flex. At 30Nm and beyond, the TR120S V2, TR160 V5 and Alpine Racing TRX V2 are the rigs to look at. All four are pre-drilled for Fanatec, Moza, Simagic, Simucube, Asetek, Logitech and Thrustmaster.

Tubular or aluminium profile?

Tubular gives you a much faster build, and a lower price for the same torque rating. Profile gives you more mounting positions, finer adjustment, and direct-fit motion. Neither is better; they suit different drivers.

How long does assembly take?

The TR8 Pro V2 is about an hour and the Alpine TRX V2 about two. The profile rigs, the TR120S V2 and TR160 V5, are published at seven hours or more, because there is far more adjustment to set up.

Can I add motion later?

The TR120S V2 and TR160 V5 are direct-fit, so D-BOX actuators mount to the frame with no separate motion base. The TR8 Pro V2 and Alpine TRX V2 are motion ready but need a motion base.
