The wait is nearly over. EA Sports F1 25 launches globally on May 30, with early access for Iconic Edition players beginning May 27. Whether you're a seasoned league racer or a Sunday paddock casual, this year’s title offers more than just an annual refresh—it marks one of the most significant leaps forward in the franchise's history.

Backed by expanded realism, smarter career options, and some truly creative content crossovers, F1 25 looks set to redefine what a Formula 1 game can offer—both on and off the track.

Here’s why you’ll want to be on the grid for launch.

Braking Point 3: The Return of F1’s Story Mode

The popular narrative mode returns for its third chapter, continuing the story of fictional team Konnersport Butler Global Racing. With improved performance capture, rebalanced difficulty, and player-driven decision points, Braking Point 3 brings fresh depth to the F1 universe. Whether you're a returning fan or new to the series, this cinematic mode offers a compelling entry point into the sport’s rivalries, drama, and pressure.

F1: The Movie Crossover – Drive the Film

One of the biggest surprises in F1 25 is the introduction of content from the upcoming F1 film starring Brad Pitt. Players will be able to race as APX GP, the fictional team from the movie, and relive key scenes and scenarios in-game after the film’s release. It’s a groundbreaking blend of sport and cinema, giving players the chance to step directly into the Hollywood-inspired grid. These scenarios won't be available on release to avoid spoiling the movie, but will be added in once the film has been released.

Reverse Tracks: Redefining Familiar Circuits

For the first time in franchise history, F1 25 will introduce reverse layouts for three iconic tracks: Silverstone, Zandvoort, and the Red Bull Ring. These aren’t just mirrored layouts—DRS zones and pit lane entries have been reworked to fit the reversed flow, offering fresh challenges even to veteran drivers.

Laser-Scanned Tracks: Immersion Like Never Before

EA has ramped up realism by implementing LIDAR scanning technology on key circuits. Tracks such as Melbourne, Suzuka, and Imola have been rebuilt with sub-centimeter precision. These updates bring track surfaces, elevation changes, and kerbs closer to their real-life counterparts—something sim racers will immediately feel.

My Team 2.0: Build from the Ground Up

The overhauled My Team mode now positions you as the owner of the 11th team on the grid. You’ll manage everything from driver contracts and R&D to sponsorships and facilities. You can now select one of your drivers to race as, bringing an entirely new dimension to the team management experience.

Career Mode Expansion: Icons, Legends, and a New Team

Career mode also benefits from My Team's new flexibility. You can now add either Konnersport or APX GP to the driver career grid, effectively reshaping the sport’s future. With 55 total playable drivers, including the full 2025 F1 and F2 rosters, plus eight F1 Icons, you can build your own dream battles against the sport’s best.

Decal Editor: Build Your Brand

Want your car to stand out? The new decal editor allows for full customization of liveries, numbers, fonts, and logos. It's the most in-depth personalization system ever introduced in an F1 title, giving players more creative control over their visual identity than ever before.

F1 World Expands: Team Up in Collaborative Events

F1 World, the live service platform introduced in F1 23, expands this year with cooperative multiplayer events. Work together with other players to meet shared objectives and earn unlockable rewards, adding a community-focused edge to the experience.

Radio Dialogue and Real-Life Liveries

More immersion comes via new radio interactions and the introduction of real-life special liveries. Expect dynamic messages from drivers during key moments such as safety car periods and qualifying runs, as well as iconic one-off liveries like the white Red Bull and the pink Racing Bulls.

PC Visual Upgrades: Path Tracing Arrives

PC players are in for a visual treat. F1 25 introduces path tracing, the next evolution of ray tracing technology. Expect more realistic lighting, reflections, and shadows for a truly cinematic racing experience, especially in wet conditions or under floodlights.

Final Thoughts: A Must-Have for Every F1 Fan

F1 25 isn’t just about refined graphics or updated driver rosters—it’s about reshaping the way you engage with Formula 1. From reverse layouts to custom teams, from cinematic storytelling to multiplayer cooperation, F1 25 pushes the series in exciting new directions.

If you're serious about sim racing, immersive career building, or just want the most realistic F1 experience to date, this is the one to get.
